Federico Zanzi was born in 1978 in Faenza. He now lives and works in Alfonsine (Ravenna). He depicted his first painting “Un mazzo di fiori” at the age of 12 and he donated it to his grandparents, so establishing a strong relationship with his family, which is a characteristic theme for his entire work. An almost theatrical darkness, which is exclusively focused on figures or part of these, prevails on light, thus accentuating a feeling of disorientation but simultaneously of undeniable sacredness. Since 2005 he has been taking part in group and solo exhibitions, among all the one on the occasion of the Premio Marina di Ravenna at Ravenna’s MAR in 2004.
