Anna Di Prospero

Artista

Anna Di Prospero was born in Rome in 1987.
He studied photography at the European Institute of Design in Rome and the School of Visual Arts in New York. His photographic research is characterized by the introspective sign with which he explores everyday life and the relationship between man and space.
In 2008 his first personal exhibition was inaugurated within the Rome International Photography Festival. In 2009 he took part in the FotoLeggendo Festival and won the Prix Exchange Boutographies which earned him the participation in the Boutographies Rencontres Photographiques in Montpellier. In 2010 he was selected for the Reflexions-Masterclass international photography seminar held by Giorgia Fiorio and Gabriel Bauret.
His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and the United States, including Les Rencontres D'Arles, the Month of Photography Los Angeles and La Triennale di Milano.

His photos have enchanted Italy and America, where Anna Di Prospero has deepened her studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He won two prestigious awards, the People Photographer of the Year at the International Photography Awards and the Discovery of the Year at the Lucie Awards and was ranked second in the Portrait category at the Sony World Photography Award 2014.
In 2016 he published his first photo book Marseille (s), the result of his work in artistic residency at the cultural association Le Percolateur in Marseille.

The intense work that she portrays with her mother, "Self-portrait with my mother", was chosen as the image of the great exhibition of the Donata Pizzi Collection "L'altra sguardo. Italian photographers 1965-2015 "hosted in 2016/2017 at the Milan Triennale. The work belongs to the series "Self-portrait with my family", born from the artist's desire to develop a research on his most intimate bonds: in each image he analyzed the family relationship, allowing it to become an inspiring source. The most important part of this work was for her the involvement obtained during the shots, thanks to which she discovered unknown aspects of her family portrayed in the places of their daily existence.
"Self-portrait with Eleonora" was chosen by Concita De Gregorio as a cover image for her book "Who am I? Self-portraits, identity, reputation ", in which the famous journalist interviewed her along with four other Italian photographers. In the works of the series "Urban self-portrait", the artist portrays herself in poetic and evocative self-portraits in which her body "interprets" contemporary architecture.
From May 2018 he will exhibit in a double solo show at the Palazzo Ducale in Mantova.
